Concrete. Paverblocks. They choked the roots. These kinda trees don’t fall on their own

Greedy gujju construction lobhy are destroying Mumbai..making money and setttling abroad with family..they and their families will pay their Karmas someday..tabtak enjoy the haram ka paisa..

This is due to concentration of road and roots are cut at the time of concrete road construction

Every tree lost is a loss to Mumbai's green cover. Fallen trees that can be saved should be scientifically replanted, not discarded. The Maharashtra (Urban Areas) Protection & Preservation of Trees Act, 1975 aims to protect and preserve urban trees. Let's restore, not replace, wherever possible. 🌳 @mybmc #SaveTrees #MumbaiMonsoon #GreenMumbai

The issue is not rains , the issue is destruction of roots during construction of road.. Cleary seen in the video these trees hardly have any roots left. The Bulldozers are used during construction of drains and roads are damaging every thing

Roots are cut during road laying! This is bound to happen.

This issue is going to increase in upcoming yrs. In last few yrs, the bases & roots of these trees were sealed with concrete & tight interlocking blocks which is technically very incorrect. This is kind of ecocide which is silently killing the trees. Sometime looks as planned.

These trees are suffocated and killed by idiot bmc and contractors, they should leave at least few feets around the tree for water, oxygen and other nutrients to reach root systems... if it's not possible to do the same, better Relocate the trees, technology is available now

Mulund East, Tata Colony, Opp. Union Bank.

Full tree department needed to make a strong base for good old tress , Triming done every year by mustafa Bazar guys is not solving full problems . We need our original forest knowledge brothers in MCGM .

Yes this happened near Heritage garden opposite Glen

How to save a fallen tree

Really at this point those trees are better off dead. Municipal authorities would have come up with some excuse or reason to cut them eventually.

Extraordinary concretisation has done the damage the roots got week through months of drilling n making roads … development is not this mark my words … we are heading towards mess, cut mangroves, encroach sea when sea will come back for its portion it will disastrous

@_jesthetic Clearly, all trees recently planted especially along concrete roads have little room to spread their roofs. @mybmc garden department needs to relook at tree norms as the Hiranandani example is clearly alarming as they are tree friendly.

There might be reason that suddenly trees started to fell and its not good thing

Botany 101: Trees require soil to hold them in not concrete/ tar, who'll tell our Municipalities ?

@AshwiniBhide @TawdeRitu PLEASE ONLY PAY ATTENTION TO THE PAVEMENT. This is how the pavement is made sleek: 6-inch height, only concrete, no tiles, no garden in it. Bombay is jopadpatti at least give the poor unlucky mumbaikar a good pavement to walk! @Dev_Fadnavis भाऊ बघा

I think one big reason is trees are pruned from one side more. it makes tree heavier on one side which makes it prone to get uprooted during strong winds & rains.

@neerjadeodhar All these roads were concretised recently !

Trees get throttled with cement concrete

Just make money don't care for human life.

Those old and magnificent trees once lost will never get replaced in man-made concrete jungle. Nature's self-inflicted injury 🤕

Only reason for happening these around cities, we didn’t give space to tree to grow a roots inside ground. We block them into specific area.

Saw the fallen trees today. Heart wrenching😒

@ankitab1492 This is not just becz of rain its bcz of not triming tries before mansoon by Govt authority ❓#MumbaiRain #Powai #Rain

Same condition in Estate too

New way for deforestation done by our own CM @Dev_Fadnavis

@Mamata_Pal bola tha yeh raste nahi lete

No balance trimming of branches, and dur to concert the roots can not spread in soil

Giant tress😮

These trees are not indigenous to this region. Gulmohar and the likes have every shallow root structure. They are an invasive species. Mumbai should have its original trees that have deep root structure.

@wizzlewobble So, not only government @mybmc but private @HOHExclusive , @N_Hiranandani also had the same fate ? Hmm, rains have not only been a real tester but also a great leveller !

@KDMCOfficial @kalyan_dombivli Dombivli MIDC also have such massive trees if only they had been trimmed scientifically

This is because BMC has been careless and while laying roads has concreted arnd the trees suffocating them and weakening them.
