I spoke about our humanitarian program “Grain from Ukraine”, through which we, together with our partners, provide food assistance to countries in need. We also discussed partnership in the agricultural sector and technologies. I thank the President for his support and look forward to deepening our bilateral relations. 🇺🇦 🇦🇴

I am grateful to Justin Trudeau for announcing an additional assistance package to Ukraine worth CAD 500 million. This will strengthen our heroes on the battlefield. Today, together with Canada’s Prime Minister, we discussed Ukraine's defense needs and coordinated cooperation within the coalition of fighter jets. This is unacceptable. Either Minister McGuinty didn't know, which is failure of leadership, or he did know and is lying to Canadians. As Minister of National Defence, he is regularly briefed, and has the ability to get briefed as frequently as he requests. This should be his first priority especially when our troops may be in harms way. It appears that once again the Liberals are changing their stories to cover up their incompetence. I will be holding the Minister to account next week in Parliament.

Ukraine is interested in a defense partnership with Spain. And today, during a meeting with the leaders of Spain’s defense companies and Spain’s Minister of Defense Margarita Robles, we discussed areas of cooperation. Spanish manufacturers presented their developments: anti-drone systems, turrets, aerial and ground drones, long-range detection radars, and munitions. They outlined their production capacity, the potential uses of their equipment, and its technical characteristics. Thank you for the meeting. We will continue working to build greater joint strength in our defense.

I had a good meeting with the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen Statsministeriet. We discussed the continuation of military support and direct investments in Ukraine’s defense industry. Denmark is one of the leaders in supporting our state and is preparing the 26th package of military aid for Ukraine. This support helps save lives, and we deeply appreciate it. We also talked about the negotiations in Istanbul and the coordination of diplomatic efforts with the U.S. and European partners. We share the view that pressure on Russia is crucial if they refuse to agree to a ceasefire. In July this year, Denmark will begin its Presidency of the EU Council. We are counting on their support for Ukraine’s European integration, which we discussed during the meeting. I thank the Government and all the people of Denmark for every form of assistance to our state and for their unwavering support of our people.
