sharing berd, a new open source desktop app to build with 🪿 we built this with a v small team, design + engineering working really close together, and designers building berd using berd! v proud of the fun and useful this is, and excited to keep building it out💫

a feature I loved building was the share/import agent experience with shiny lil cards and also the ability to embed agent metadata in png to share!

so so magical!! ✨

oh how lovely! :)

oh werd? 👀

I’m scared But also props for adding a notepad/checklist I can’t believe no harness has that

woww that looks so nice, those 3d-character are awesome ! what tools did you use to design them ?

World class creative direction; well done!

@jack How different is it from buzz?

damn i love these shit-3d models. i need to add some to @garlicfyi im thinking pizzas and burgers flying around when you goto a restaurant page

@garlicfyi we are making "shit-3d models" the official internal term

very cool but those agent representations are extremely cursed 😭

👋 This is so freaking cool! Would you/your team be open to interviewing on Sneak Peek (120k+ audience) and showing your design workflow? Maybe design iterations for BUZZ? Here's my interview with Mercury design team for reference:

love the little dudes hanging around

Seriously an insanely good project

@berdyaboi sue them

w app

already haunting my dreams

this is such wonderful work would you come demo it at one of our events in SF?

Is this the repo?

designers building berd using berd. that’s the test I actually trust

agents are giving "don't hug me i'm scared" vibes 💀😭

This is too fun

@floguo It looks so fun!!

🔥

Designers building the tool with the tool keeps the loop honest. Fun and useful together make daily use stick.

shipping a cross-platform desktop app as a small team, the design and eng loop is the easy part. the real tax is code signing, auto-update and notarization on each os. curious what you landed on for distribution.

cool

what is the default thinking level cynthia? i am using codex

it me.

Botched my onboarding this afternoom, now stuck on failure mode screen halp

Love seeing builders create tools they genuinely use themselves

The interesting part isn’t another agent UI—it’s designers building Berd with Berd. That dogfooding loop should expose context, handoff, and iteration problems much faster than a traditional spec-to-engineering workflow. Would love to see what changed because of it.

so funnn

designers building it in it is the part i'd underline. agent tools tend to break in the boring middle, the waiting and correcting and re-reading, and you only feel that if you have to ship in it every day.
