Sharing content has been one of the most requested features for Modrinth App. You can finally share an instance directly with friends and push updates as it changes!

No need to publish an unlisted project or send .mrpack files over Discord anymore! Read the blog post about how it works!

Cool now add a back button that doesn’t reset your current page number, and add a proper installed modpack library screen.

you're now objectively better than curseforge. god bless you modrinth devs. 🙏🙏🙏

@PrismLauncher please add this, i have to constantly send files back and forth with friends its terrible.

PLEASE add folders to the library screen and try and make the modrinth account inside the MODRINTH APP be more useful, instead of just friends.

you can already add instances to groups which show up as collapsible sections on the library page! to do this, go into an instance's settings and you can make a group here

@KrisendoUmbreon I already use this feature and I like it, tho I feel like it could be a bit more intuitive? At least when it comes to creating groups, it is kinda buried away /lh

@KrisendoUmbreon yup, one of our next projects is overhauling the library! gonna be making this way better.

@Zekcya Thank you! One issue I'm running into; the new Share feature never loads, even after 5+ minutes, and says it's "shared" when it isn't. Also, tapping Manage Preferences in the Privacy tab crashes the app.

I change launcher Prism to Modrinth Thank you!

Goated. Viruses bouta be so widespread.

Awesome now fix your Linux client

I FUCKIN LOVE YOU MODRINTH

Does this share mods that aren't on the platform, like curseforge files that don't allow third party downloading? Do these have to be added separately?

Any content in the instance is shared, just like if you sent your friend a .mrpack file!

yes of course! share your malware included instances with your friends!!!

New malware method just dropped

Modrinth is better than curseforge. Faster and more reliable!

I was googling how to do this yesterday are you guys psychic

yes 🧠⚡🐸

When are Fabric and Forge finally going to have some feature like tModLoader and every other moddable game ever where it auto-downloads mods when you join a server

this is basically what Modrinth App does! if there's a server listed on Modrinth or you're invited to your friend's shared instance, it will automatically download all the required content for you.

I had my doubts about the acquisition but this a good change

holy shit this is huge

PEAK FEATURE

Does it auto update if the owner adds a new mod? could they add a malicious mod after you’ve installed it, or do you have to approve any new mods added?

It does, you should only accept invites from people you trust! It's just like installing a .mrpack they send you.

@ppdubss_ You should definitely make that explicit, best UX and safety is: - Mention auto-updating in the warning - Make it like steam add a manual update option, block people from playing until they review the update changes and complete their downloads

@ppdubss_ this is indeed how it works. try it out!

Always modrinth being the goat thank you 🥹 now we get just wait for favouriting mods

YEEEEEES ❤️❤️❤️

@modrinth pls fix linux version of modrinth it don't load skins in the skin page and more

that's pretty neat but have you guys improved the filter settings so you can actually find mods or is this entire community reliant on social media still?

Is it possible to share settings too? Not as in config but like resource pack load order, shader settings, server list and so like you're able to do w .mrpack files

this would have been nice to know like 5 minutes ago 😭i just shared like 3 modpacks over discord lol

can join our discord to get notifications for big announcements like this! 👀

HELLO??????? HI MODRINTH? SURE OKAY

Hey is there a way i can share the instance to myself? or sync this instance on other clients. Im trying to import my instance from my pc to my steam deck and it doesnt seem to transfer over and i want to have it be up today to that pack

you can just accept your own invite link!

I’m not sure if it’s a bug on my end but on my steam deck side it doesn’t sync over

Can I do this for instances I’ve already shared via .mrpack?

if only you had a working linux app on nvidia... (tauri sucks ass)

Oh, thank you. Mod sharing is one of the most painful parts of modded multiplayer.

I might have to switch to modrinth

can you share some new guidelines that prohibit ai generated content

Two questions: - does this share only the modlist or an actual mrpack file? - are other launchers free to implement this protocol?
