Shaun Alexander at Alabama

Worth remembering in that LSU game that Shaun was a freshman, I believe 3rd string. He wasn’t expecting to play so he stayed up the night before playing video games. Then injuries forced him to play on no sleep and he almost hit 300 yards rushing.

As a kid he was my favorite Bama player of all time. Put him on one of those Coach Saban teams and he wins the Heisman

The main reason I fell in love with Alabama football. Remember him grabbing my hand I had stuck through the chain link fence at Legion Field as they came out of the tunnel for the Iron Bowl

I know Alabama fans remember, and revere, Shaun, but it seems like he's been all but forgotten by the NFL and Seahawks fans. He was a tremendously talented RB for them for several years before injuring his foot. Even got the cover of the Madden video game!
