Thrilled to say I couldn't even tell you what Baddies is, learned a long time ago that reality tv exist to harm our community, so I avoid them. Many have internalized all the stereotypes & just like the embracing of prison culture in the 90s, those stereotypes are being embraced.

Shows like Martha’s Vineyard don’t do well because they can feel patronizing to a good portion of black people. Also lots of black people don’t care what white people think of them and love seeing black success no matter what. You know who doesn’t? And also controls the networks?

I'm just saying people like me been saying Black folks need to love ourselves. Stop entertaining BS and know we're more than this. Too many of us think of us as n****az rather than people. A lot of us do the work of White supremacy frfr.

The fact is that the people making the decisions for these shows are either White or from an Immigrant background and now #FBA #FREEDMEN people have had enough. Enough to take control? That remains to be seen.

ALL reality tv is trash, so this comparison is shit water from the jump, especially when all she’s advocating for is black bourgeois energy, most great black television was middle class people living regular lives, she just wants black opulence visuals

For me she didn’t eat because she actively understands how all of this is harmful,negative, and detrimental to the community but yet KEPT reinforcing the point that she supports it ALL 🫩

A lot of this is rooted in anti-intellectualism and the economy since the Great Recession. There has been a lot of hints — it now seems more overt — of resentment towards people that are educated and more fascination with how to beat the system and get rich quick.
