You can taste two liquid one after another and think you’re not getting a contaminated taste, I get are sentiment about the quality of water we’re getting but to taste like she’s doing it is absolutely flawed, the result is contaminated

POV: 1. You don’t do a beverage taste test without a mount-rinser. The elements in the first liquid will definitely affect your palate and give a false result. 2. Best beverage taste-test are conducted “blindly” you don’t get to see the product’s name. Sip and say.

Take it or leave, no water beats Gossy. It's crazy how it's always made in limited quantities.

I love her review. It is a very honest review. Mind you, she is reviewing the taste and the quality of the plastic bottle materials which can impact on the taste. We need to pay good attention to the taste of water we drink. The plastic material can cause a change of taste due to prolonged or poor storage. Microplastics are dangerous chemicals which unavoidably cross into drinks packed in plastic bottles. It crosses from the plastic material. There is a limit to the amount of microplastics that is safe to consume in a period of time. Poor or prolonged storage can increase the amount of these chemicals in the bottled drinks just like any of these—poor storage or prolonged storage— can add taste to any bottled water. Hence, though microplastics are not necessarily a direct cause of taste in bottled drinks, taste in bottled water might be a warning indication of the load of its microplastic contaminant. The quality of the plastic material—physicochemical properties—is also important in food safety. Some bottle materials more readily release their microplastics into the drinks. That was why she considered some physical properties of the bottle materials in her review. Microplastics are carcinogenic, i.e, they can cause cancers. They are also associated with infertility. This might partly explain why the incidences of cancers and male infertility have increased in Nigeria in the last 30 years (comparing early 1990s with 2020s). There have been a huge shift of habit amongst Nigerians into consuming plastic bottled water in the last 30 years. Not just the incidences of different cancers are rising, but also, younger age groups are now being affected. For example, in the early 90s, it was very rare to see women younger than 30 years of age having breast cancer. But now, even teenagers are not totally left out. This might not be unconnected with the shift amongst Nigerians during the same period towards drinking products packaged in plastics bottles which are purportedly contaminated with microplastics. How else can we explain the fact that cancers and male infertility, the two major health hazards associated with the consumption of microplastics increased in incidence around the same time a society shifted to a drinking habit that exposed it to microplastics! Water should be tasteless when you drink it in pure form. Taste in water is enough warning that it contains some impurities—which anyway might be intentional additives or accidental/incidental contaminants. I prefer my water without any additives so that I may know that any form of taste in it is bad. That is why I agree with her review that those bottles of water without any taste are the safest to drink.
