I trained a new server and on day 2 she was talking sh¡t to the cooks and dishwasher. It started as playful banter but evolved into real insults. They (the cooks) intentionally made her orders last and the bussers ignored her tables.

Some FDs have a frat house style culture, where hazing the newbie is a norm. Couldn't say why beyond tradition. Taking an attitude or trying to bust balls with your seniors and superiors is looked down on. You have to earn your stripes first. And that comes with time.
