I made a spreadsheet. The TOTAL AMOUNT of GST sucked by the Govt remains SAME even after the reduced GST rates. The Govt has not lost anything, it has not sacrificed anything. So the question is why haven’t they done this in the last eight years??

Does that mean before 2017 there was no taxation system? Such dumb people make dumb videos and some people try to glorify and spread. Before 2017 VAT use to be there where states use to collect tax. GST is just centralised version which reduces many unnecessary steps.

From where these items come into being? Before 2017, the govt took on an average 25% tax on all exp. that got reduced in 2017 to around 18%. The process was simplified and tax revenues multiplied. Now was the time to reduce it. There will be further reductions in future.

Actually, more tax was being recovered from common man during Sales Tax & VAT regime. Due to leakages, the tax recovered by business owners from public was not being deposited in treasury in full. Leakages& loop holes are blocked in GST regime. GST has brought transparency.
