The collective has identity issues too. Hypernormalisation at scale is the same mechanism as avoided inner work at a personal level. A man doesn’t cling to dysfunction because he enjoys suffering, he clings because he’s built his identity around it, often all he has built. He sees the contradiction, but admitting “this is wrong” threatens “I’m not who I think I am,” so the mind protects coherence over truth through rationalizing, minimizing, and reframing to coddle himself. Instead of changing, he preserves the identity “seeing himself a good guy,” because familiar dysfunction feels safer than an unknown self, managing dissonance through narrative, not behavior. Inner work starts when that narrative is observed rather than believed. Metacognition is the shift from being the thought to witnessing it, followed by the tolerance to sit between self image and reality without collapsing back into defense. Without it, the psyche defaults to protecting identity over truth and reality. With it, identity becomes flexible enough to update, and growth shifts from preserving who he thinks he is to aligning with what he claims to value. Ignorance of his own values is lethal. The same rule applies internally as in teams and collective. A system rises only to what it’s willing to face. What isn’t integrated sets the ceiling. A system doesn’t break at its strongest point, it breaks at what it avoids. The lowest bar defines the limit. Ignore it, strengthen it, or it drags everything down. The one world is merging. The aligned and integrated have dead weight losers to carry no matter the path to get there. Revealing leaders and those that can handle themselves plus volumes more… and then the basic herd. What will the merge do with the lowest bar? What happens to the highest bar? 100000 other questions. This is why the chaos is becoming hypernormalized. A collapse toward a rebuild. Those in alignment and have integrated with themselves have advantages over the basic herd. Ought to be talked about… more than it’s not ;/ I know Brian Roemmele is consistent on self awareness, alignment and integration for the transition. Because it will save us over ignoring ourselves.
