This lady’s mum went into hospital seven weeks ago with a suspected fracture. She was mobile, independent, had all her wits about her and was on no medications. Since being admitted into hospital, she’s lost FIVE STONE in weight, is on several types of morphine along with other drugs (including blood pressure meds and statins) the family specifically asked the hospital staff NOT to give her, she can’t walk, is incontinent, permanently drowsy and an absolute shadow of her former self. The doctor has told the family that it’s up to the patient to say if she wants to come off the drugs but the daughter believes her mum is being coerced/bullied into taking them. “These places are not safe,” she says. She’s right.

This young woman was off on a run, she’s taking the route she normally does for a long time now. On the way see runs with her little brother and even sees her sister out running as well. As the sun sets she’s on her final stretch of her run and she’s approaching where she started out again. She sees two men on the sidewalk and right as she is about to run past them they try to grab her and take her, one of the men lunge at her as to almost tackle her and stop her in her tracks. Even after running for miles she musters up the strength in her to run away as fast as she can. It’s safe to say this is why people use treadmills but if this was you would this discourage you from running outside again, what would you do?

Our sweet girl Faye has now lost total control of her back legs 😭 But she’s not ready to quit on us yet. Shes still managing to get around, still very much into her food and seems to be happy. She is having regular bum baths as she wees on herself a little bit with barrier cream and regular cleans she’s doing great. We know she doesn’t have much time left but she’s not ready yet. ❤️

Friends! It’s been a tricky few days with Ron and Percy being off colour. Cleo, on the other hand, seems to be as strong as an ox! Nothing seems to stop her. Even when she’s having a nap (and she doesn’t have many) she’s not very still. Always sucking on her leg! It’s a bit distracting when Baby Dog and I are trying to nap too!

I just wish she could condense what she said here in a minute and 30 seconds into 20 seconds or 30 seconds or 40 seconds, so people don’t tune out. She is so thoughtful and so deliberative in everything she says that she loses people in trying to make her point. I think this is why so many accuse her of this “word salad” nonsense. It’s not because she doesn’t know what she’s talking about, it’s because her prosecutor mind weighs the weight of every single word as she’s delivering a point. I don’t know how she retrains herself, but in this ecosystem she has to be able to just deliver the line, the thought, in a way that is concise. Like it or not, people have no attention span anymore.
