I think it’s important that her mom just let it happen. He asks her for help and she doesn’t. She lets him prove it to the child because that’s the only way her daughter will learn. And it’s a sad lesson to learn.

Sometimes when parents go through things like this I get that we try to shield our children and ensure they stay in a child’s place but not telling them the truth is misleading. She should had told her the truth then the child would’ve understood it more when that last scene happened.

If you are an adult who had a cheating parent who left the home, this film, and especially this scene, is hard to watch. Could get you ugly crying. Lord knows I did when I saw this first time.
