this is a byproduct of DEI higher education admissions policies. everyone else's degrees are devalued because the bar for everyone has been lowered. when nobody knows the value of a university degree, they will rely on secondary hiring and evaluation metrics. good luck out there.

I took an unpaid internship at a radio station when I was 19 to sweep floors. By 21, I was the Music Director and Morning Show host. I moved on to TV as an intern, and re-designed the ad system. I then interned for a graphics reseller and turned it into a job at Lucasfilm. Gotta play to win.

In the 90's I was a manager for a Hardee's restaurant in Central Illinois and one of my line cooks had 2 degrees, a PhD in Criminal Justice and a Bachelors in forensic science and couldn't find a job in either field. It happens, but I respect him for doing what he had to do without complaining or thinking that a degree should have guaranteed him a job. He was a great employee.

Too many of that generation went to college to begin with. Most of them should be doing hard manual labor. That’s how it was back in the day. Most did not nor could not go to college. Higher education was reserved for the top, and the majority of society fucking worked. They all think they are special and entitled to a handout or a leg up in the system. That’s not how the world works. We all had to work our way up, from rock bottom.
