she is SOOO smart the way she breaks down the language journalists use SO clearly like people are being manipulated so easily

especially the phrase open air prison because it gets used a LOT even by people with good intentions but she’s right it carries a lot of weight

she speaks more on copywriting/journalism in the full thing it’s really interesting and important to be aware of

@nameshiv People think 1.1 million people isn’t a lot, as well - until you say “ok, how about we evacuate the entire population of San Francisco, Dallas, or San Antonio overnight. Without infrastructure or assistance.” THEN their jaws drop.

@KennieJD Never has it been more important to reiterate that WORDS MEAN THINGS. The words you use have a huge fucking impact on what you're communicating. Call things what they are! Unflinchingly. We need journalists to have integrity and be uncompromising in their telling of events.
