Everything she said is the exact reason I will not be in a relationship where loyalty does not exist. I simply love myself and my peace that I have created for myself way too much that I absolutely refuse to live one day of my life in a position of “chosen uncertainty” because that’s exactly what are choosing for yourself: a life of loyal uncertainty with this other person - and that I am not willing to do.

It is selfish, delusional for her as a cheater to believe she isn't the primary problem. Cheaters don't get to tell the people they cheated on when they should heal & how to trust again. They have broken the trust & it may never fully be recovered although forgiveness is crucial.

I’ll never understand why people stay with someone who betrayed and violated them. Why would you put yourself through the daily anguish of mistrust and understanding that person stared you in your face or with their words and did this to you. How do you look at that person and ever trust them again? No one truly forgives this and the damage cannot be undone. They made a purposeful decision to do those actions. They made the decision that the connection and “love,” you share didn’t matter and didn’t care if they lost it. They are who made the decision that you, the family, the life, and even their own dignity did not matter enough. They love themselves but only love what you provide. You don’t betray nor utter violate someone you actually love. Sometimes, just like a criminal, you have to let them sit with the consequences of their decisions
