Lucy Lawless did that firebreathing trick for real in the first season. There after it was CGI'd in. I think there was accident involving another performer.

she did it for real until they started worrying about her blowing her eyebrows off. then, when eric grundemann (producer) left the show (he was a vocal protestor of it) they did it for real again. notably in the finale.

Thanks for that info. X:WP was a great show. Okay, it was uneven & did loose it's way on occasion. JIMHO. But at it's best it was some of the best TV out there. And part (not the sole reason) of why it was so awesome was the physicality LL brought to the role.
