she portrayed this character in such a magnificently complex way that it was really easy to convince one that the film was an actual biopic and that Lydia Tár existed

Sadie Sink reveals she was actually nervous on her first day filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Interviewer: “Tom said in an interview there was this level of confidence that you brought immediately that first day on set… that really shifted everything in such a good way. What does that mean to you… just to know that you walked in already and the aura was there… the energy was there? And what did you do to set yourself up for that?” Sadie Sink: “Oh God… I don’t know. I’m glad that it appeared that way. I think there’s always a level of challenge and excitement when establishing a new character in any environment… but especially in one that they’ve been here for 10 years. So yeah… I definitely was nervous. But I’m glad that I guess it didn’t come off like that.”

Blitzer: “When she called this 37-year-old mother of three who was driving that car a domestic terrorist, that really was outrageous.” McLaughlin: “It was an act of domestic terrorism. In no way is that outrageous.”

Sigourney Weaver on what she loved about her character in "Alien" (1979): "Interviewer: Ripley is now seen as this feminist action hero. Did you think about that or the politics of your representation at the time? Weaver: What I loved about Ripley in the first one, thanks to [producers] Walter [Hill] and David [Giler], and in the second one, thanks to Jim Cameron, was that I didn't really feel like a badass heroine ever. What I felt was like you or me in this situation, [wondering] what the f**k you were going to do. It was an everyman character that could be any of us. That was very unusual at the time that a character, a woman character, went through a whole film, doing difficult things by herself, a lot of the time, and didn't have some scene where she bursts into tears and cries in a corner for a while. Because I'm telling you, in those days, they really wanted women to be sympathetic. And that meant that either you had to be in a little skirt and run around, or you had to have these scenes where you cried and broke down because they thought if you didn't that you would seem unfeminine. So I was so lucky that I avoided all of that because I was doing science fiction, because I was in the future. And I was just playing this character who was put in this situation. And it was written like a man. It wasn't written like the way they wrote women in those days." ("At 28, Sigourney Weaver Was Thrust Into An Alien World", Zosha Millman, Bustle, 2021) P.S: On this day, 47 years ago, "Alien" (1979) had its limited release in the USA.

It was an unusual debate in the sense that it was policy light. We have such a short time before the actual election and it’s disappointing that we don’t have more discipline on policy and a lot more detail.

To help Ryan Gosling stay in character, the real doll was treated like an actual person, as is done by the characters in the movie. She was dressed privately in her own trailer and was only present for scenes that she was in.

GIVE PEACE A CHANCE First released on July 4, 1969. Yoko: All those Vietnam protests really changed the world. There was always that element who were really resisting it. That was the saving grace – that people were aware that they were that young generation who were really against it. And so it worked very well for the world. And the Bed-In was just part of it, a definite part of it. It was a statement on a very theatrical level and I think it was very effective. We were artists and did it our own way. We felt very good about it then, and it was such an incredibly strange thing that we were doing. At the time it was a courageous thing to do. John was making the statement in a way that he was looking at the far, far future. I saw it in his eyes. He was saying, ‘OK this is what we’re going to do together.’ And we’re going to give peace a chance. To the world.

Kristin Kreuk on working with Jensen Ackles on Smallville: God, it was so fun... Jensen has such an easy kind of chill, like he just is so cool, and his performances are just really free and natural... and looseness that his character had, and that he naturally has - it was really, really fun to work with him. #AcklesNatiion #smallville

This woman called for an Uber so that she could go and visit her friend, when the Uber showed up, it wasn’t the one in the picture on the app, but it can’t be a coincidence that it was this one that showed up. A moment before it showed up, a man walked by, and seemed to circle her, once the fake Uber showed up, the man who circled her tried to force her into the car, she managed to fight them off and got away. Could the actual Uber that she was assigned to in the app have been involved in this, how else would could this have happened?

So happy for Nate Ament. His interview on the Mike Keith Show was one of my favorites. But it was this clip before the actual interview that really wowed me. Such a genuine and humble guy. #GBO #VFL
