I blame Pharrell Williams and that goofy ass same demo ass beats he loves to reuse.

She really wants to be something special so badly. But it’s just cringe the whole time. She thinks much too highly of her capacities. She is not a good singer. That’s just the reality. People need to stop pretending otherwise. she was cute as Hannah Montana and that was her peak. Since then, it’s always just been her trying to stay relevant. Even a bad singer can put out decent music with a good enough editing/production team in the studio. Party in the USA is still a classic though. Wrecking ball was a good song, but again—not a display of great talent. More just great production making use of a tolerable and recognizable voice.
