We didn't have much money when we got married so bought our first set of wedding rings used from my wifes divorced uncle. He was an automobile mechanic and my ring had a bend in it. Caught it on the latch of a heavy fire door and it ripped it off my finger.

My man and I have discussed silicone rings as our normal wedding bands. I don't really like wearing rings. He works with his hands. There are beautiful silicone engagement rings, even, on Etsy.
