German tax-funded state TV educates Germans: - An Afro-German girl plays a game where she has to prove she is German to a grumpy German grandma - The grandma tries to prove the girl is not German by throwing hard German words at her - The girl pronounces the words correctly, yet she still loses and is not German … symbolism of course for society - The grandma forces the girl to eat sausages, which she does … yet she is not accepted as German → The girl only wins and becomes German when she stops appeasing the grumpy grandma and confronts her. She wins by throwing the German grandma into the mud. In the next symbolic statement, she says the game has problems because you have to start from scratch each time and the opponents learn slowly … they are clearly talking about society, where she has to prove she is German again and again. A bit much for a children’s show?

The restaurant says if she pays they won't press charges. She gets on the bus and the cop follows her. She decides to pretend she's asleep, even when the cop is pulling on her arm and talking loudly. In the South, we call this 'playin' 'possum' and it is the most ridiculous thing I've seen an adult do, especially after just speaking with the cop less than 5 minutes beforehand.
