For the past 15 years Sammi Deen Baloch has been holding a press conference every Eid demanding the release of her missing father. Justice Denied, Pain Multiplied: Adeeba Zaheer, the daughter of Zaheer Baloch, who was forcibly disappeared by Pakistani forces on April 13, 2015, is once again facing the cruelty of state repression. Yesterday, her younger brother, Zeeshan Zaheer, was forcibly disappeared by state intelligence agencies. For years, Adeeba, Zeeshan and his family have been peacefully struggling for the safe recovery of their beloved father. Instead of hearing their cries for justice, the state has chosen to deepen their suffering. Now, Adeeba Zaheer has taken to the streets once more. She staged a sit-in protest on Panjgur CPEC Road, demanding the immediate and safe release of her brother, Zeeshan Baloch and this morning, Zeeshan’s lifeless body, with marks of bullets and torture, was dumped in Panjgur This is not just a personal tragedy, it is a grim reminder of the widespread practice of enforced disappearances in Balochistan, where families are punished for seeking justice.
