I always send the driver a message saying I tip in cash. I prefer cash as the driver has some more leeway with morality for reporting it as income or not. Working as a delivery driver in 2011, I figured out cash was king. I tip based on mileage traveled.

We all know Uber can steal the tip which they do , so maybe we want to pay the tip in Cash but the problem is the driver can’t see the tip in advance and it is really really low fare base for drivers.
