When I heard the premise of the film Honeypot, I had to watch it. A Dutch college student, Jini Jane, decides she wants to sleep with right-wing men on film to help solve political polarization, and puts out an announcement on a conservative website. She ends up settling on a working-class guy and an intellectual. The resulting movie tells a fascinating story about gender relations, class, and politics. The working class guy, who apparently cooks meth at home, comes in like a bull. She enjoys everything about the experience and develops genuine affection for him. Then she meets the incel-adjacent philosopher. It doesn't work out as well. He's needy, insecure, and turns her off. The disgust is palpable. She repeatedly calls him an oaf, and starts demanding he buy her jewelry. He ends up scarred by the experience. Two men, in the same situation, with the same woman. But the results couldn't be more different. What is the lesson here? This is a movie about the nature of men and women. But there's also a political lesson, which is that proles become rightists for organic and often healthy reasons, while reactionary intellectuals are in many cases doing something deeply incongruous with who they are. They're alienated both from their working class comrades and also other elites. I ended up interviewing Jini, along with the director of the movie, KIRAC. I ask her exactly where the poor rightist intellectual went wrong. In the clip below, she describes how he managed to even screw up the spanking he was giving her to reestablish his role as the man in the relationship. Again, this is all on film and you can watch the entire thing happen. Oh, and for some reason there's a North African in the movie providing color commentary and encouragement to the rightist intellectual throughout his ordeal. Maybe he'll rethink his position on immigration? I’ve never been much of a connoisseur of performance art, but Honeypot gives us the best version of it, provoking in this viewer at least thoughts about what women really want, the state of contemporary politics, and the various sorts of men who end up on the right in opposition to a left-wing elite monoculture.

The attached video is from 7 years ago when Kamala Harris first ran for president. It was obvious then that Pressley didn’t understand lineage. We never said Harris wasn’t “Black enough”. We said Harris—an Indian/Jamaican— couldn’t run on a lineage she didn’t have and we weren’t voting for Obama 2.0. We said Harris needed a serious BLACK AGENDA. Pressley said Harris was getting harsher treatment because she’s a woman. She was DEFENDING Harris. And regardless of the sexism female candidates face, Harris still needed a serious BLACK AGENDA. They should’ve been pressuring Harris instead of rallying around her. Fast forward to now and Pressley and her guest on her YouTube show are having the revelation that they *DO* need a Black agenda. That they *DO* need to be agenda driven rather than just aligned with the Democratic Party. That they are about a decade TOO LATE. They spent far too much time defending Democrats instead of pressuring them. They should get honest about that & take some responsibility for their political incompetence.

For the life of me, I can’t fathom their arrogance. Trump’s rise & the gutting of Civil Rights era gains is just as much a failure of the Black Political Class as it is a failure of Democrats more generally. Deleting comments won’t change that. And they haven’t been saying it for 20 years (as Monique Pressley says in her YouTube reply). They spent the last 10 years marginalizing the ADOS movement for aggressively challenging Democrats for how they neglect their ADOS base.
