Itโ€™s nothing new Ioan! Started back in 2016 with lambs wool which composted extremely well for winter crops, Nitrogen analysis was torching 14%.

How can wool be worthless? What a scandal. You canโ€™t buy a good /thick wool jumper for less than ยฃ100, so why is it worthless? ๐Ÿ™

I use a lot, particularly lambs wool, around planted hedge saplings to keep moisture in the ground .

Equestrians use this to make โ€˜fleece lasagneโ€™ in poached field gateways and along tracks. Layer of fleece, layer of bracken & twigs, layer of fleece etc. Works well ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

Great idea but I suspect it might wrap up tight around all the augers on the muck spreader in the Spring, which would not be fun.

Brilliant idea, so you should expect DEFRA to have a rule that prevents you from doing this! I experimented with growing grass hydroponically on fleeces, which was successful and easy to lay without disturbing the roots.
