I agree the kids are fucked up. The disagreement is around who fucked them up. A big part of it was a government-enforced lockdown while we were governed by @ObamasAutopen

She lost me at "capitalistic society". What does excessive screen time by bad parents have to do with capitalism?

I think this is very good commentary, though, what's also happening is they are being affected by the hostile political atmosphere--some of it is overt, with kids having heated political debates, even at young ages. She shouldn't dismiss the effect of teachers, though.

@AnneSaggau Our country is in deep trouble. I think the leaders of the future are going to come out of private schools and home schools.

Parents bear the responsibility for this. They inject their kids with vaccines and whatever else the guy in the white coat says, feed them highly processed foods, park them in front of the TV or computer, then give them cell phones.

i don't like to do zoom meetings for the school i teach at. and this is a fully elective school, they choose it. yet, they all just sit there, not one single question. i offer to answer any questions about projects they're working on outside of class. zero fucking questions.

They're the ones who don't take school seriously. Plenty of students take HP & AP classes and are going to college. The difference is that these students know that they have schoolwork to do, so they'll do that work & pick up their smartphone when they're done.
