They should be paying a small bill like internet or pitch in $150-200 a month to get them used to paying bills and be responsible. At 22 you should be buying your own necessities especially if you have a job.

At 16 I dropped out of high school my mom put my ass to work the next week and I had to pay her 200$ a month I thought I was grown but now as an adult I wish she would have pushed me to stay in school she just said fuck it and started charging me rent ..

Though a lot of the 30-40 year olds had a great mother that encouraged them to focus on their school books, enjoy their childhood & not have to do any housework. Yet once those adult kids go away to university they become totally different people. They no longer value family.

Nah I don’t think parents are expecting that of their young adult kids just starting. More like the parents are now retirement age and kids have been stable and thriving for a while now and should be able to help out and most kids have no problem with that
