SHIF: Inside the shift CS Nakhumicha Wafula: Structurally NHIF was designed for salaried individuals. We only have about 20% of Kenyans who are on payroll; NHIF was meant to work for the 20% and not the other 80% #NewsGang

When you listen to the CS, especially around Supply Chain and Procurement, and then on Governance, it looks like the Public Particiaption is a mere exercise. The die is cast and she knows what they are going to have in place come 1st March 2024. #NewsGang

Hi ,.I have one question to the Cs,How are they going to do with the contributions made during the period of NHIF now they are shifting to SHFT?

Automation of systems does not stop corruption. Has IFMIS stopped corruption.

@YvonneOkwara ask our able CS @Nakhumicha_S About the outpatient cover for the self employed. How much is it capped at ? Also the maximum cover for inpatient for self employed. The USSD code *155# is also not working. They should ensure it works.

Is there a reprieve for employees on Private medical covers? Majority have not or do not use NHIF because of the private arrangement.

#Newsgang Some employers have already well run private medical schemes for their employees. Is there an opt-out-of-Shif for such

The same 20% is also denied access to use NHIF at the health facilities.

@citizentvkenya #newsgang there's huge workload for Hcare providers in public facilities, how does SHIF sort that out esp with the newly CHPs likely to increase pts. With NHIF patients had to choose a single facility from which they get OPD services, How does SHIF address that.

The CS just saying that they have plans, plans, plans ...blah blah blah blah.we'll do this, we'll do that. No timelines, no nothing. Total BS

What happens to quality of healthcare are we going to have hospitals get better rebates based on kqmh, safecare or JCIA accreditation to encourage hospitals to provide better care
