Shocker: This week's Holy Post is mostly a hagiographic, whitewashed obituary of Jimmy Carter. Things start out with Phil derisively saying "80%" of the reason why conservative white Christians turned on Carter is because he invited lesbians to the White House.

Things get weird: Phil compares Carter to Mr. Rogers, stating, "Fred Rogers was more theologically liberal than Jimmy Carter was. Jimmy Carter was theologically conservative til the end." [Carter denied inerrancy, denied the exclusivity of Christ, and affirmed queer romance] Skye then compares Carter to Jesus, saying Americans rejected him because he was so humble and that made us feel like our nation was weak. "He was too Christlike for the presidency."

Things get tense when Esau McCaulley calls them both out for the inappropriate comparison to Jesus and using Carter as a "cudgel" against conservative Christians. Phil gets snippy and passive-aggressive, then acknowledges McCaulley's point, but you can see him seethe internally.

Biden tells America to choose Transgenders over Jesus 🤔 Joe Biden literally has already found a replacement for Easter, yap and its now called the transgender day folks. Question: Who do you think he is going to replace Christmas with?

Carter invited lesbians to the White House? Between the hostage crisis, crippling inflation, suffocating interest rates, the 1979 oil crisis, national malaise, the failure of détente with the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, etc., I didn’t have time to notice.

Phil thinks Christians were good with all this stuff and just did a mindless about-face ~5 months before the election because they were triggered by the gheys

Lost so much respect for Phil over the years. The issue "80%" of conservative Christians had with Carter, is that he reflected the world and not Christ.

Is Skye doing an impression of Tim Pool? Phil is such a scumbag. I can see why he would be a fan of Carter, they were both arrogant and condescending critics of any Christians to their right while never applying those standards to their own behavior.

@William_E_Wolfe Wouldn’t that be enough?

@William_E_Wolfe One would think!

Carter lied when he ran for president the first time about his positions. He was as leftist as George McGovern in '72. He was pro-abortion, pro-ERA, pro queer marriage, and a host of other things. "Evangelicals" supported both Ford and Reagan in '76 and '80 respectively by large margins.
