🚨 SHOCKING! A Leftist historian shamelessly equates Mughal brutality with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s heroism 😡 Anjana Om Kashyap hits back hard — reminding her to say CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ with respect. Insulting a national icon isn’t ‘debate’. Apologise.

From Forts to Classrooms Maratha Legacy Lives On! Laid the foundation stone of the ‘Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Special Center for Security and Strategic Studies’ and inaugurated the ‘Kusumagraj Special Center for Marathi Language, Literature and Culture’ at JNU, today. The commemorative stone plaques of both centers were also unveiled. There was a deep sense of fulfilment in seeing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy of vision and strategic brilliance receive a space for academic study in the heart of the nation’s capital. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's forts were never mere stone structures. They were expressions of foresight, courage, and unmatched planning. Their recent recognition by UNESCO as the 'Maratha Military Landscape of India; stands as a global tribute to that legacy. Built across the Sahyadris, the coasts, and the plateaus, these forts still stand strong centuries later, each telling a story of civilisational strength and tactical mastery. In a time when many bowed before foreign powers, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, blessed by Rajmata Jijau, took the oath of Swarajya. The battles Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj led were never for personal rule, but for self-rule of the people. That resolve was carried forward with unflinching courage by Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, who defended Swarajya against relentless aggression. The Marathas, as a united force, never fought for territory alone. They fought for Bharat as a whole to safeguard its civilisation, culture, and honour. Soon, a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will grace the JNU campus. It will stand not just as an artwork, but as a quiet teacher. A presence that will remind generations of students about the strength that comes from clarity of purpose, discipline, and nation-first thinking. Equally meaningful was the inauguration of the Kusumagraj Special Center for Marathi Language, Literature and Culture. Marathi, now recognised as a Classical Language, has always carried the richness of saints, thinkers, poets, and playwrights. From the timeless wisdom of Sant Dnyaneshwar to the stirring verses of Kusumagraj, this language has shaped the mind and soul of Maharashtra. This recognition as a Classical Language came after strong scholarly backing and a heartfelt appeal, which was graciously accepted by Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji, a gesture that reflects his deep respect for India’s linguistic heritage. Language carries memory, emotion, and knowledge. It must be spoken with respect and preserved with openness. Whether it is Marathi, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi or Sanskrit, every Bharatiya language is a pillar of India’s cultural strength. To honour one’s mother tongue is to honour the roots of the nation. The Maratha worldview has always been expansive. Whether on the battlefield or in ideas, the goal was never limited to a region, but always about the larger good of Bharat. To see that legacy reflected today in these two academic centres is more than a tribute to history. It is a step towards shaping a future rooted in knowledge, courage, and cultural confidence. Minister Uday Samant, MP Anil Bonde, MP Dr Ajeet Ghopchade, MP Dhananjay Mahadik, JNU Vice-Chancellor Prof Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit, Chhatrapati Babaji Raje Bhosle, Thanjavur and other dignitaries were present. Do you know how Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s death was avenged? After Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj’s brutal execution, Aurangzeb’s commander Zulfikar Khan seized Raigad and imprisoned Yesubai (Sambhaji’s wife) and his son. But the fire of vengeance was already lit. Sambhaji’s younger brother, Rajaram Maharaj, rose as the new Chhatrapati. Sambhaji Maharaj was tortured for 40 days before being executed. The Marathas were enraged. All differences vanished. They united with one goal—Aurangzeb’s annihilation. A storm was about to hit the Mughal Empire. At Sangameshwar, Chhatrapati Sambhaji and 200 warriors fought against 10,000 Mughal soldiers led by Muqarram Khan. Among them was Malhoji Ghorpade, who fought to his last breath. His son Santaji Ghorpade vowed vengeance and made Aurangzeb’s life a living hell. Santaji, with Dhanaji Jadhav, led a sudden attack at Tulapur, where Aurangzeb had executed Sambhaji. Aurangzeb, camping with lakhs of soldiers, was shocked when only 2,000 Marathas stormed his camp like lions. The Marathas butchered the Mughal army mercilessly. Mughal historian Kafi Khan wrote, “After Tulapur, the Mughals trembled at Santaji’s name. Soldiers were either killed or captured. His very name sent Mughal troops into chaos.” Panic spread in Aurangzeb’s camp. Mughal soldiers screamed, “Huzoor, the Marathas are here!” While Mughals scrambled to protect Aurangzeb, the Marathas were cutting them down. Aurangzeb fled to save his life, but his empire’s prestige was shattered forever. The Marathas seized two golden finials from Aurangzeb’s royal tent and returned to Sinhagad in victory. The next morning, Aurangzeb saw thousands of dead Mughal soldiers and muttered, “O Allah! These Marathas never tire, never surrender. What if we perish trying to destroy them?” Two days later, Santaji attacked Raigad Fort. Mughal commander Zulfikar Khan, who had imprisoned Yesubai, was encircled. The Marathas stormed the fort, massacred the Mughal troops, and seized their treasures, horses, and elephants, taking them to Panhala. Wherever the Marathas saw Mughals, they slashed through them like grass. Now it was Muqarram Khan’s turn—the man who had betrayed and captured Sambhaji Maharaj. Aurangzeb had rewarded him with 50,000 rupees, making him the governor of Kolhapur and Konkan. The Marathas swore Muqarram Khan would not live. In December 1689, Santaji Ghorpade surrounded Muqarram Khan’s massive army and began a brutal slaughter. Santaji personally chased him down, hacked him apart, and left him dying in the jungle. With Muqarram Khan’s death, the Marathas avenged the brutal execution of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. In 1691, Chhatrapati Rajaram Maharaj declared Santaji as the Commander of the Maratha Empire. Santaji wasted no time. With 15,000–20,000 Maratha warriors, he stormed Mughal territories, raising the saffron flag over Karnataka and beyond. Aurangzeb, now a coward hiding in the Sahyadris, ran for 27 years like a dog. For 27 years, the Marathas kept him on the run. Broken by humiliation and continuous defeat, the coward Aurangzeb finally died a miserable death in Maharashtra—the land he failed to conquer. This is the fate of tyrants. And today, some people glorify this defeated coward? Remember, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj did not die in vain. The Marathas shattered the Mughals, and Hindavi Swarajya stood unshaken. This is our history. Never forget it. Sourced from FB & YT

British Museum director Dr Nicholas Cullinan is leasing 80 Greek and Egyptian artefacts to the Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya museum in India for three years, to “decolonise” the British Museum’s collection and correct an apparent “colonial misinterpretation” of Indian history. Sabyasachi Mukherjee, director general of the recipient museum in Mumbai, said, “All cultures are great cultures and we need to respect all cultures. Through this exhibition, there is decolonisation, an attempt is made to decolonise the narrative.” But not all cultures are great. Britain left India far tidier than it found it. A bit of gratitude wouldn’t go amiss. Contrary to claims made by two Marxists, Utsa Patnaik and her husband Prabhat, that Britain extracted the contemporary equivalent of $64.82 trillion (£52.58 trillion) from India between 1765 and 1900 — “enough to carpet London with £50 notes” four times over — the Empire didn’t dig cash out of the ground. We gave the Subcontinent the industrial revolution, railways, the civil service, Greenwich Mean Time, common law, and so much more. We shouldn’t pay any attention to the historical grudges and ethnic chauvinism of other countries. India is only using the British Empire as a cudgel to beat whites with, to gain the upper hand in geopolitics. We have no collective guilt to atone for. And if they're going to be so rude about it, we should stop and reverse all migration from India, and stop all the remittances their economy relies on. You wanted independence from us? Have it. Empowering Maharashtra’s Legal Landscape! Glad to perform the Bhoomipujan for the new Civil Judge, Junior Division Court building in Mahad, Raigad-Alibag, along with Supreme Court’s Justice Hon Bhushan Gavai ji. This new court building will strengthen judicial infrastructure, ensuring faster and more efficient access to justice for the people of Mahad and nearby regions. Additionally, launched the book "Mahadcha Muktisangram", celebrating its rich legacy. Being in Mahad is truly special, as this land echoes the legacy of the Chavdar Tale Satyagraha, led by MahaManav BharatRatna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar—a pivotal moment in the fight for social equality. The town also serves as a gateway to Raigad Fort, the capital of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, standing as a proud reminder of Maratha valour and Maharashtra’s rich heritage. This Bhoomipujan marks a significant step toward strengthening judicial infrastructure in Mahad. There will be no obstacles due to funding, as we are committed to ensuring the smooth progress of this project. Every effort will be made to complete the construction on time, providing a well-equipped court for efficient legal proceedings. And I will surely be present for its inauguration. In Maharashtra, judicial infrastructure is being shaped with a distinct vision, thanks to the efforts of Supreme Court Justice Hon Bhushan Gavai ji. His contributions have played a key role in enhancing efficiency and accessibility in the justice system. To support this, around ₹800 to ₹1000 crore has been allocated for the development of judicial infrastructure, reinforcing our commitment to a stronger and more effective legal system. Maharashtra is also set to become the only state in India with 3 prestigious National Law Institutions—in Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, and Mumbai—further strengthening legal education and opportunities. We are rapidly implementing the three new criminal laws, ensuring a smooth transition. Courts will be digitally connected, expediting justice through better evidence management. High Court Chief Justice Hon Alok Aradhe ji, Justice Hon Milind Sathaye ji, District Judge Srishty Neelkanth ji, Justice Makarand Karnik ji, DCM Eknath Shinde ji, Minister Aditi Tatkare, Minister Bharat Gogawale, and other dignitaries were present.
