We want to take a moment to applaud the courage of our CAIR-Texas team. The very next day after Governor Greg Abbott issued his unconstitutional and defamatory proclamation, the CAIR-Texas team went to work as usual while signing off on a federal lawsuit and preparing to testify at a state Board of Education hearing in defense of student rights. Before that hearing started, security warned members of our CAIR-Texas team that a suspicious individual had entered the building and demanded to know if any CAIR leaders were present. While this man was searching for our staff, the CAIR-Texas team was given the option of leaving the building with a police escort. They declined. Each of them stayed and delivered their testimony. As a civil rights organization, CAIR was founded to both shield the American Muslim community from hate and protect every American's right to exercise free speech, practice their own faith, and speak up for justice here and abroad. Being a shield means taking arrows. CAIR-Texas has been a shining example of courage under fire and an inspiration to our entire organization, alhamdulillah (praise and thanks to God). Today on our pilgrimage we met with the Nasser family on their farm, now commonly known as the Tent of Nations - located south of Bethlehem in occupied Palestine. The Nasser family are a Palestinian Christian family who have owned this farm for over 100 years. But 35 years ago, the Israeli authorities declared his farm and the surrounding area to be State land. Ever since then, the family have been engaged in a struggle to register and protect their farm. And with each passing year, settlements encroach on more and more of their land. But the Nassars continue their Tent of Nations work with steadfast nonviolence and faith, living their message every day: “We refuse to be enemies.” They are an example of creative, hopeful, Christian resistance to injustice and they need the support of Christians around the world. During my visit today I had the honour of planting an olive tree on the Nasser farm. At a time when many Palestinian Christians are leaving, olive trees are a symbol of their deep roots in this land. As this tree grows, I pray that peace grows too in Palestine and Israel. Please pray for the Nasser family, Palestinian Christians and all those working for a just peace in the Holy Land.

Hassan was a beloved member of his family and of the Windsor community. He is now among over 1,500 people killed by Israeli forces in the illegal bombing and invasion of Lebanon. It is time for Canada to back up its condemnations of these attacks with specific actions. As the family said, that means placing targeted sanctions on the Netanyahu government and ensuring that Canadians who are fighting for the IDF and committing war crimes must be appropriately prosecuted. It was refreshing to see Louisiana's Head Coach Matt Deggs, who'd just lost 19-5 to Mississippi State, after playing in mid 90s temps earlier in the afternoon just to get the opportunity, willing to talk about the game, his team, and even his expectations for next year. If you're fans of Mississippi State and its Head Coach Brian O' Connor, he will remind you of the same candor, plain-spoken-but-well-spoken type of coach who has both affection for his players but expectations of what he asks and demands of them. This is a coach whose team survived multiple elimination games at the Sun Belt tournament, played at all hours and even multiple locations last week, winding up in the championship game. And when offered a chance to deflect the lopsided score with the drain his team might have faced having only a short while after gutting out a win over 2-seed Cincinnati 8-6, he said his team wasn't tired, though. They just ran out of pitching. And, his analogy that "they were going to have to kill us, and they did" was a tip of the cap to his opponent, whom he deemed worthy of a long run in Omaha. Anyway, let's let Coach Deggs say that, and so much more, in his own words. Write it down now, they look like a team to watch in the Sun Belt for 2027. The man who attacked her in Cincinnati was a repeat violent offender and was given a slap on the wrist. He never should’ve been back on the streets. Now, Holly is vowing to be a voice for the countless victims who never got justice. “Moving forward. We do need more accountability. Nine Accused in TUT Lecturer Murder Seek Bail Nine suspects accused of killing a lecturer from Tshwane University of Technology appeared in the Soshanguve Magistrate’s Court this morning, Monday to apply for bail. The matter had previously been postponed to allow the accused time to prepare their formal bail application. The lecturer was allegedly assaulted and killed in Soshanguve in late February 2026 in what police believe was a vigilante-style attack. He was reportedly dragged from his home and beaten in the street after being accused by community members of raping two children. Authorities have not confirmed those allegations. Police opened a murder case following the incident and arrested nine suspects in the early hours of 28 February. The group, six men and three women aged between 23 and 40 now faces a charge of murder. The accused are expected to continue their bail application as the court proceedings unfold, while police have urged residents not to take the law into their own hands and to allow the justice system to run its course.

Nine Accused in TUT Lecturer Murder Seek Bail Nine suspects accused of killing a lecturer from Tshwane University of Technology appeared in the Soshanguve Magistrate’s Court this morning, Monday to apply for bail. The matter had previously been postponed to allow the accused time to prepare their formal bail application. The lecturer was allegedly assaulted and killed in Soshanguve in late February 2026 in what police believe was a vigilante-style attack. He was reportedly dragged from his home and beaten in the street after being accused by community members of raping two children. Authorities have not confirmed those allegations. Police opened a murder case following the incident and arrested nine suspects in the early hours of 28 February. The group, six men and three women aged between 23 and 40 now faces a charge of murder. The accused are expected to continue their bail application as the court proceedings unfold, while police have urged residents not to take the law into their own hands and to allow the justice system to run its course.

Please listen to the words of Fatima Haidar, who spoke this morning in Windsor, Ontario about her brother, Hassan Haidar, who was killed last Friday by a senseless Israeli strike in Southern Lebanon. Hassan was a beloved member of his family and of the Windsor community. He is now among over 1,500 people killed by Israeli forces in the illegal bombing and invasion of Lebanon. It is time for Canada to back up its condemnations of these attacks with specific actions. As the family said, that means placing targeted sanctions on the Netanyahu government and ensuring that Canadians who are fighting for the IDF and committing war crimes must be appropriately prosecuted. We must have transparency and justice. Canada must stand up when its own citizens are being killed.
