Presuming the info here is correct re NIH funding for this lab in 2025; why would @DrJBhattacharya do such a complete 180? It makes no sense. I don’t believe for a second he suddenly changed his opinion on the inherent risks of such research, so I can think of only two plausible scenarios: 1. Bhattacharya wasn’t involved in or aware of the allocation of these specific funds, but rather it was decided by other staff/institutes, or 2. There are national security reasons for allowing the research to go ahead pertaining to biodefense / geopolitics. Or am I missing something? I would much appreciate a comment from Bhattacharya or others that can offer a sensible explanation. @Bryce_Nickels @R_H_Ebright @thackerpd @Ayjchan

But Covid-19 wasn't a released Gain-of-Function virus. Covid-19 never existed. Seasonal and deadly Pneumonia was rebranded into Covid-19.
