The law is clear, SAPS members may not own or operate taxis. There are no exceptions. This is not a small administrative issue. SAPS is expected to police taxi violence, extortion, organised crime and related disputes. A police officer cannot have a financial stake in the very industry they are meant to enforce the law against. I have written to the National Commissioner requesting urgent action. Where these allegations are proven, members must not only be disciplined and dismissed, criminal cases must be opened. They must be arrested, charged and, where the evidence supports it, convicted. Yes, indeed, this is lawlessness by any standard. Even by banana republic standards, this is still lawlessness. Your country has a constitution, it has a government, it has a police service, and it has a ruling party. I am sure you can see that some of the people there are actually wearing ruling party T-shirts. It is lawless regardless of whoever does it. It is an embarrassment to South Africa as a country, what you are doing and what you are encouraging people to do. Your country has an immigration service. If people are in your country illegally, they should be arrested and deported through lawful processes. You do not go around destroying property, tearing down markets, and attacking people. It is illegal regardless of whoever does it. It is not illegal because I have said so. It is illegal because the laws of your country make it so. This is vigilantism, pure and simple, and it is tainting the reputation of South Africa, not only across Africa but across the world. If you have got satellite television in your home, you can see that these actions are being reported everywhere. It is not good for your country. So just to sum up the last couple of weeks of The Discourse™... Young men talking about how incredibly expensive everything is now are just lazy, incompetent, and not frugal enough. It's not that there are 100 million migrants clogging up the works, and it's not that the Boomers are purposefully driving costs up so they can artificially inflate the "value" of their investments (which no one can even afford to buy anyway), it's that 23 year olds are willing to spend money today on a burrito, even though the currency they used will be worth even less if they saved it for a couple of years. Young women are rabidly defending a woman who strangled her own children to death, apparently because it's the logical conclusion of their kneejerk support for abortion. "My body my choice" slides naturally into "my children my choice" and actually it's the husband's fault anyway because he's a Gemini. She's raised almost a million dollars. Right wing young men who read unapproved (by ConInc) political theory or think of leftists (who want them and their children dead) as "enemies" and anyone who wants to actually punish and disenfranchise those leftists as "friends" are actually just falling for Third Worldist anti-American propaganda. We know this because we are being assured by the people who utterly ceded the culture war to the Woke until 2023 and who have accepted their role as permanent losers and underdogs that this is the case. Fellow Kenyans, Last week, I raised grave concerns about credible reports that Kenyan youth had been recruited and deployed to the Russia–Ukraine conflict zone. I warned that the silence and inaction from those entrusted with power was unacceptable. I reminded the country of Kenya’s obligations under international law, including United Nations Security Council Resolution 2331 (2016), which speaks directly to trafficking and exploitation in situations of armed conflict. Today, the Government is issuing statements and speaking of “looking into the matter.” That is not enough. Kenyans do not need public relations responses. They need action. They need leadership. They need their children brought home. We demand the immediate return of our people to Kenyan soil. The Government must stop hiding behind the language of investigations while families endure profound grief and uncertainty. Investigations may continue, but the first responsibility of the State is clear: secure the safe return of those who are alive and ensure that those who have tragically lost their lives are brought home with dignity and honour. MUST THIS GOVERNMENT WAIT UNTIL WE RAISE AN OUTCRY WHILE OUR CHILDREN ARE DYING IN A FOREIGN WAR? Fellow Kenyans, Last week, I raised grave concerns about credible reports that Kenyan youth had been recruited and deployed to the Russia–Ukraine conflict zone. I warned that the silence and inaction from those entrusted with power was unacceptable. I reminded the country of Kenya’s obligations under international law, including United Nations Security Council Resolution 2331 (2016), which speaks directly to trafficking and exploitation in situations of armed conflict. Today, the Government is issuing statements and speaking of “looking into the matter.” That is not enough. Kenyans do not need public relations responses. They need action. They need leadership. They need their children brought home. We demand the immediate return of our people to Kenyan soil. The Government must stop hiding behind the language of investigations while families endure profound grief and uncertainty. Investigations may continue, but the first responsibility of the State is clear: secure the safe return of those who are alive and ensure that those who have tragically lost their lives are brought home with dignity and honour. This is not a minor administrative lapse. If young Kenyans were misled, trafficked, or facilitated into a foreign war zone under the watch of this administration, then this represents a grave failure of duty.
