Yes, shot clocks are needed Also, I’d just pressure the ball Also, shame on any coach that would want to win that way in high school. Tell me you’re a horrible coach without telling me you are a horrible coach.

@BballCoachMac Play defense! Why you sitting back in a zone allowing them to hold the ball? Saying a coach is bad because they hold the ball is ridiculous! I disagree completely! Standing in a zone allowing them to hold the ball says you’re a bad coach to me.

We have had the shot clock in Massachusetts high school basketball for more than 25 years. It is easy to implement and administer and it helps the game in so many ways. Now that NFHS has approved it we will see most states finally get on board l.

I'm a small school, my 2 best players are in foul trouble early in the 4th quarter and we choose to hold the ball to allow for a competitive game down the stretch AND the other team sits in an "orange cone zone" ... And that's wrong?

@BballCoachMac Go play D. If you can’t play D, don’t blame clock management. The last thing I want to see is more horrible shot selection from kids who don’t take good shots now.

Puttting a 20 second clip of a team holding the ball with no context is a terrible way to make this argument. Why doesn’t the team playing zone go guard the ball? It’s just as much on them as it is the team holding it.

@CoachAvalosEDHS I would love a shot clock but a team sitting back & just letting them hold the ball is crazy. In high school u have to coach to ur team’s strength. U don’t get to recruit for ur system you have to adjust ur system to ur players. Shot clock would really make coaches IQ get better.

The comments are ridiculous. How about they’re winning and instead of running up the score you hold the ball. If I’m on the defensive side wouldn’t be no zone!! Straight man on man.

If it’s late and the stalling team is up, it’s definitely the defense’s problem. If you don’t like it, learn to play a different defense. Even with a shot clock, you can’t sit everyone inside the three point line on defense if you’re down late.

@BballCoachMac Yes, I would prefer a shot clock. But this is completely not the reason. Go guard them.
