DEVELOPING: A commercial truck driver named Juan Hernandez-Santos of Huentitlan, Mexico, was arrested at the scene of a 6-car pileup on I-5 in Lacey, WA, on Thurs. The driver was hauling cars & slammed into the back of the school bus after 7:00 am & didn't have a commercial driver’s license, insurance, or a valid medical card. 200 trucks entered Gaza earlier today, as coordinated by COGAT, 42 of which were loaded with shelter equipment. As part of this aid, some 3,600 tons of tents, blankets and mattresses have been transferred to Gaza ahead of the winter. Over 2,000 trucks have entered Gaza since the start of the war, transferring water, food and medical equipment.

Bronx: East 136th Street & Bruckner Blvd, a serious multi-vehicle crash involving three commercial trucks left one driver critically injured Tuesday morning, prompting a large FDNY rescue response. Just before 11:30 a.m., the #FDNY and officers from the NYPD 40th Precinct responded to the scene after reports of a collision. According to a preliminary investigation, a truck operated by a 64-year-old man was traveling northbound in the right lane of Bruckner Boulevard when it rear-ended a second truck driven by a 48-year-old man. The force of the impact pushed the second truck into a third truck that had been stopped at a red light, operated by a 46-year-old man. The crash left the first truck severely damaged, trapping the 64-year-old driver inside the cab. FDNY firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools to extricate him as EMS staged nearby. The injured driver was transported to Lincoln Hospital in serious condition. The operators of the second and third trucks were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries.

This kind of driving can get someone killed. Some folks think it’s no big deal to fly up the shoulder and pass a semi. But that move is reckless, illegal, and flat-out dangerous. Most people don’t realize this, in crashes involving semis, it’s usually not the truck driver who caused it. Studies show cars are at fault 80 to 85 percent of the time. Semis are BIG. They don’t stop quick. Give them space. Be patient. Drive smart. Thanks to Doug Bradley Trucking, Inc. here in Kansas for sharing this video from one of their dash cameras. The incessant honking, billowing smoke & insolent insistence on a owning 4 ft wide gully made walking impossible. Allow bicycles & small carts, but get rid of the motorbikes, and add some fines for unnecessary honking!

Tesla’s Safety Hub says those miles are also coming with 7x fewer major crashes. But the bigger advantage is the road data itself. One of the things we've found is 3D printed cloned plates to name one of many ways trucks get cloned across the industry. We see this in visual photos like Genlogs and we see this in the actual inspection, violation, and crash data. A truck can't be in CA and VA the same day. Why do we care? Because when that truck crashes and kills somebody. The plate and the marking will disappear. Then insurance gets involved and at some point society and the industry as a whole will share in the absorbed cost of this crash through higher premiums. The carrier will move to their next shelves authority theyve had waiting since they purchased it on places like The name of the trucking identity whack a mole game is make the money, let everyone else pay the costs. Move on untouched.
