He has a choice, either he lets people like that ruin him or he kicks them out and lets paying tenants in. I experienced this personally with my parents. They lost a property and almost had to declare personal bankruptcy because they had too big a heart for a tenant. If you rent, you need a certain level of cold-snout and you cannot take on other people's problems that they are responsible for and should have solved themselves long ago.

They fail to realize that landlords have financial responsibilities as well. Do they think it's ok for landlords to go bankrupt and lose their assets because tenants refuse to pay rent?

No. Why would I feel guilty? They shouldn't sign a lease if their intent is to rip me off.

Of course not. Their property is not a charity.

How is a landlord responsible for homelessness? This is such an entitled mindset. That man’s house is his livelihood and if he let’s people live there free, he’ll be in the same situation.

The woman arguing has obviously never experienced to be stresses of being a landlord, and needing the money of your tenants to pay your own bills. It's always virtue signaling and moral posturing for the cameras until reality hits you and you can pay your bills or feed your family.
