Consequences. It's not his kid, no matter how she feels about it. She had someone paying the bills, and she threw it all away. If she needs someone to pay to raise her kid, since she's incompetent and not viable, she should appeal to the kids actual daddy.

Proof that children are the ones that suffer. Imagine being a child and looking at a man (or woman for that matter) as your parent, then being cast aside over money. If you took on the role of parent, a child doesn't know the difference.
