I firmly believe in our right to protest however blocking streets should be illegal and immediately subject to arrest

This should fall under false imprisonment laws. And every instance of it should be considered to involve the most egregious circumstances. For instance, any instance of intentionally preventing traffic from moving should be considered to be intentionally preventing: people from getting access to their medication on time, having access to emergency services, etc.

If you illegally enter a space for the purpose of hindering freedom of travel and commerce, you take upon yourself the risk that someone will enter the same space to hinder your freedom of speech. In a civil society, the protestors would be relocated to a safer/legal place, or arrested if they refuse to move. But when laws aren’t enforced, lawlessness reigns.

What should be asked,… Why aren’t protesters on a road, obstructing traffic, being arrested?

I’d have more respect and support them if they were on the sidewalk. But if they’re blocking me from getting to my family in an emergency then they better get out of my way.

Good. Fuck them. They're just an insignificant annoyance, and whether they like it or not nobody really gives a shit about their protest. So, of course.
