We joke but most of this is humanly possible with practice, it's just that remasters tend to give players effortless speed shortcuts that they can spam all the time for free progression so they don't bother learning the how the game works

What I hate about early Sonic is you have to know the level beforehand for it to feel fun at all. Like you have to slog through a level 20 times before it actually starts to feel fast, otherwise it's on average slower paced than Mario.
