Should Hunters Be Banned From The Gun Range?

I never said hunters should be banned nor did I imply it. It’s also not me judging random people at the range. This is clipped out of context. I was expressing my disappointment when I go shooting with someone for the first time and their version of “going shooting” isn’t my version of “going shooting.”

We hunters do both. Yes we want to know where that first cold barrel shot goes. It's the responsible way to hunt. But we also shoot the shit out of our other firearms.

As a hunter, I think those who don’t hunt should be banned from a gun range.

I would rather see ranges ban Butters and Fudds.

Except that hunter is going to be the range Karen and make sure every rule is enforced, every tax stamp is checked, and makes sure everyone else that doesn't do what he does is miserable. Both can exist, but one of them makes the day significantly worse every time.

I think it's cool. You don't go out blazing with ammo when you just want some tasty version jerky. Hunters are trying to build a routine that's more realistic with how they'll be shooting in the wild. I rather see a guy practice to build routine then no one there at all.

Train how you fight. They're training for that first shot to be a hit every time from a cold barrel. You guys are training to engage a threat(s) in closer ranges where multiple shots are almost certainly going to be needed.

I have never gone to the range. I just go out in the country set up my targets at ranges I want to shoot and then I shoot, pick up as much of my brass as possible then go home and reload some stuff to do it again

Why the hell do I need approval from mag dump guy when I’m developing an accurate hunting load and taking my time? Why does anyone care? And who should question me shooting from a bench, assuming I can’t take a prone shot in the field? Or vice versa?

Is this the gun range equivalent of the gym bro who spends fifteen minutes putting weights on a bar, slapping his chest, breathing, flexing, shaking, stretching, and making sure everyone sees what he's doing only to do one rep?

I do all types of shooting. Sometimes burning mags, sometimes testing functionality, sometimes long range precision. The only thing that matters is being courteous to others on the range. If you’re going to take 15 min between shots, let the others go change targets.

First off the Hunter is tuning his rifle for an ethical first shot kill. He probably couldn't care less about the guy ripping at the other end of the range. Respect for hitting the plate before the mag was empty.

The answer is no. If someone wants to check zero with cold barrel shots, go for it. If someone wants to burn through 500 rounds in 30-min, go for it. I'm thinking most folks should mind their own and let folks enjoy shooting however they want. Just be glad they aren't some gun-hater trying to take away your rights.

You've had a lot of stupid takes in some of your videos there Colon.... Anywho .... Everyone does different stuff at the range I'm good at all of it. I don't like all of it. I'd really love to shoot sporting clays more often but I'm intensely good at shooting pistols of all kinds, shapes, and sizes. I'm also incredibly good at shooting rifles but I find it boring because I can consistently hit targets wherever the fuck they are however the fuck far away they are especially if the rifle is designed to do it. I'm not going to mag dump my AR with a comp next to you while you're having fun breaking your benchrest personal best with a 22lr at 200y. I'll ask you first.
