Should producers stop making rap beats since rap sales are down?

If u only doing it for the money they yea, switch it up then. But if u doing it because you truly love the art of it then keep making the type of beats u love to make 💯💯🙏🏾

Create a new trend or die trying, not everything is pure introspection, doesn't translate over most of the time. Not everyone thinks that lol. What you feel is what you create. You are still saying leave what you have been creating with passion. Why? Only if it's natural, not because of low sales. Half of what you suggest is correct, but the reasoning is wrong af. One doesn't run when under pressure.

the problem is not the beats. it's the rappers

It might be a good time to become skilled at other genres to improve your range in a downturn. No reason to stop making anything due to the cyclical nature of trends.
