Static shock actually treated the situations as if it's something to be aware of, some shows try to employ guilt and shame to get their messages across, sometimes they do a decent job; but the message is overshadowed and tainted by an individual related to the media.

Man, Static Shock should come back! Messages and everything bro…

Not even trying to play any amount of devils advocate, just theorizing here. But it’s likely because people often see SU as childish and overbearing. He’s a sensitive boy who cries easily and wants to talk things out. And people hate that for some reason????? Something something toxic masculinity.

Only diffrince is the writting was good

They'd complain about the show teaching about black history even though the show has always done that. And since LGBT+ censorship is dying out, so many of these bitches would cry about Richie being gay. Even though he always was. They just couldn't show him in a relationship 😹

Preach

I wouldn't want Static without Dwayne McDuffie. It'd feel wrong to do a reboot without the man who created Static and pushed for the very issues Static tackled to be included. Without him, Static would be way more watered down which is what the modern Static comics are.

Does your dad know you pretend to be an anime girl on the internet?

Yes, and he could not be more proud of me

@BoltsTheMech you repost ai videos lmao

@BoltsTheMech You got me bro

Dwayne McDuffie built the show around representation as access. Rebecca Sugar built the show around representation as self-expression. In short: Static Shock said "you matter, here's your story"; Steven Universe said "here's my story, and it's okay to be this complicated." Not the same.

Honestly that makes modern shows look even worse

Dude Captain planet did that every single episode to educate people. I hear you. And Captain planet was one of my favorite shows growing up. Don't get me started on PBS kids. Every show was a lesson that was the point

Maybe it needs a revival, as long as they bring back Phil LaMarr to voice Static again

Shows that have a lesson are better to write for and usually watch. Be it Law and order, My little pony, justice league, road rovers, etc.

Static shock should get a live Movie & game but of course we can't have that because of dumb rights issues.

getting war flashbacks from the song at 0:30

Its more of not every episode wad a psa not a days feels like TV is just a psa. A lot of shows try force the v lesson in every episode,. I'm dyslexic and I hated the fucking dyslexia episode

I did not like that show it was boring

Thanks for sharing this

For me I had chowder, KND, EDD ED N EDDY and other stuff but sadly not static shock

Reminds me of watching The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog ending with Sonic Says reminding you about not trusting strangers and remembering your phone number amd so on. I'd like Static to have a reboot but it probably won't be the same given how today's media goes

Static shock felt natural about it. Not it being shoved down our throats.

causation and correlation. two things can look and act the same, does not mean they are the same. If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, but dosnt sound like a duck. then its a goose.
