Should suspensions affecting Grand Finals be looked at differently? Tim certainly thinks so. Cobram Estate | #AFL

@CobramEstate Do you get a speeding fine reduced because you were rushing to an important appointment?

@CobramEstate Four days of 'it's the letter of the law' and 'brave decisions,' followed by a complete 180° to 'the vibe'.

@CobramEstate So we just have a bunch of guys knowing they can punch guys in the guts with no consequence for 1 game of the year.

@CobramEstate He king-hit someone off the ball. Aren’t you the same people always crying about this stuff filtering down to juniors? Suddenly it’s fine because it’s one of the boys and there might actually be consequences.

@CobramEstate When asked about hawthorns free kicks against (Mitch Lewis deliberately most notably), you said ‘they were all there’. As was Lachie neales strike. Both with grand final on the line. Contradiction timbo

@CobramEstate It’s a coward act Neale deserves the week off. Hopefully now it stamps it out of the game. Need the same stance with jumper punch too.

@CobramEstate Ridiculous. A reportable offence is a reportable offence regardless of what the next match is. Why should you be able to get away with more in a PF than in round 1? Nuts

@CobramEstate Yes Tim...lets add another layer of complexity to a process that already has enough critics. Another layer at odds with what the AFL has already implemented to stop this issue.

@CobramEstate What your basically saying is to every coach of every under age kids team that it’s okay to hit someone in the guts leading into a grand final as it’s really important game and you won’t be penalized for it. You’re a disgrace.

@CobramEstate His suspension is brisbanes next game which happens to be a GF. If they’d lost he’d miss round 1. The action and punishment don’t change. Let’s reverse the free kicks in the last minute. Yes they were technically there but you can’t pay those in the last minute of a prelim.

@CobramEstate I think deliberate calls affecting a teams chances of going to a grand final should also be looked at differently, Tim.

@CobramEstate The AFL tried handing out fines for this, didn’t work. It is a tough call but everyone knows the penalty

@CobramEstate Journos talk about the integrity of the game for 27 rounds of footy a year, and suddenly they switch sides on the last one. Absolutely pathetic stuff. Bunch of charlatans these lot.

@CobramEstate Calls to make GF punishment exceptions are ridiculous & hysterical. Assume most get taught bad behaviour has consequences, now you want to baby grown men? Instead of “letting them off”, Lachie et al should change their behaviour FULLY KNOWING the consequences. #AFL #AFLFinals

@CobramEstate “Your honour, I know this crime usually justifies one year in prison - but I’ve actually got my first child due in a few months, so you’re going to have to let me off.” Do these people hear themselves?

@CobramEstate The tribunal found it conclusive

@CobramEstate These ‘experts’ cry all year about consistency is all we ask for and cause it’s a GF they still cry this time they demand inconsistency. Fckn ‘experts’. 🙄

@CobramEstate Ridiculous take, and obviously just trying to get reactions. If players know the consequences for the action, don't do it. It was a long way off the ball. Seems Neale is lacking in judgement. Surprise Surprise.

@CobramEstate I think homding the ball and insufficient intent free kicks should be looked at differently in finals too... In other words, what a load of hot garbage take.

@CobramEstate No Tim, ya flog

@CobramEstate Tim Watson has gone soft. Lachie Neale needs to accept the 1 week suspension. No double standards.

@CobramEstate Ask daicos if he'll trade Brownlow for premiership medal? Of course he will. Players play to win GF.... Let him play & penalise him next season

@CobramEstate No because the line just gets drawn somewhere else and the same controversy ensues in a different context.

@CobramEstate Cage match is the only solution

@CobramEstate Tim is a legend and deep thinker. He always makes cogent arguments as with this. But in this case I will disagree.

@CobramEstate How about we try some consistency for once in the game. Half the issues are from the opportunity for so much interpretation. Stop over complicating every single rule and decision.

@CobramEstate At this point it’s become laughable

@CobramEstate Players play to play in & win GF. Trade off so the guy plays GF but gets suspension doubled at start of next season.

@CobramEstate Ahh so different rules for different games. Makes sense.

@CobramEstate That’s not very clever, should traffic violations be changed because you’re late for something…?

@CobramEstate No

Australia should be doing this during AFL and NRL finals series.
