Yes, just ran through the player, no real attempt for the ball, wanted to leave a mark on him. Dangerous.

Red Card 🟥 the player knew what he was doing, bottled it, turned and lead with the shoulder

Am I in the minority that doesn’t see that as a red? Tried to close the ball down and yes turns at last second is that not because he gets contact on the ball? Pretty sure it’s secondary after the no7 but still… no elbow or forearm involved

Look closely watching the boy then lead shoulder to hurt him ..in the game now a red + cowardly

You can’t pretend to be a serious football team if you can’t accept this being a red. Dangerous, endangering his opponent, violent, no intent to play the ball. Tweeting about it is embarrassing 😳

Q. Has he endangered the opponent's safety? A. 100% he has. 1. Speed, force, intent and lack of control. 2. No attempt to play the ball. The context of the challenge means this is a red card all day long.

Not a chance is this a red card two players challenge for a ball So as a player your just meant to let your opponent win the header Foolish decision from the referee The game of football has gone to many wet wipes in the game

All good until he turned and lead with shoulder. Reckless and dangerous. Red. Player doesn’t look in a good way from reaction of his team mates.

6 months conditional discharge if he did that to someone in the street. Good red card. 🟥

He's deliberately gone to take him out. It's entirely deliberate. So if he's made contact with opponent head then it's a red. But not clear to me if it's chest or head.

He’s gone to compete for a ball which he’s second best to, turned to protect himself but unfortunately his momentum carries him into the opponent. Yellow for me all day long. Bit of guesswork from the official as blindside.

I find it quite shocking the people that know very little about football commenting on this post. Never a red player wins ball. Ref couldn’t see challenge burgis hill player makes the most of it. Got desired effect a player sent off.

Yes, because that's the decision the referee gave based on what he saw from his angle at the time. Why not put up some 'should our striker have scored here' or 'should our goalkeeper have saved this' videos, or is it only referees that have to be 100% mistake free all the time?

Absolutely spot on decision, cowardly challenge by the player, no intention to play the ball.

Definitely justified. Makes no attempt for the ball. Only thing on his mind is to take out the opposition player and leave a mark

That sort of motion and contact with the head in rugby would be a red card. No argument for me here

I think he's played the man deliberately. Wasn't really looking at the ball.

Games gone way past fucking soft if that’s a red. Fucking ridiculous.

Never a red. Nothing malicious or recklessly dangerous. Sure, a free kick all day and nobody should feel bad to get a yellow for that.

No attempt to play the ball. Offender looking directly at Opponent, not the ball. Serious Foul Play.

1st glance I’d give a yellow

Yes. Red card is the correct decision for serious foul play

That would be a red in rugby, let alone football. One of those naughty ones where you can occasionally get away with it, but he knows what he’s doing. The fact it’s amateur might give him a pass here because you’d expect people to be a little clumsier. A few decades back you’d be fine. Nowadays, you can’t complain if the ref has given it.,

If you think this is a red go play a different sport because football ain’t for you. I swear some of you want football to be a non contact sport. Absolutely nothing wrong with this. Should’ve yellow carded the player in green for being a wet wipe.

Shows how soft the games gone in the UK because I’m clearly in the minority that thinks it’s a yellow. Late tackle, but with his shoulder. Hes gone sideways and led with his shoulder to also protect himself why would he challenge full front? Course he’ll turn his body.

Red; turned his head away; used his body to take him out intentionally; knew what he was doing. Just my thought after being blessed to play locally this evening.⚽️🙏💛
