Should ‘Umpires Call’ be abolished?

@benstokes38 NO NO NO NO NO it’s one of the best aspect of tech in cricket. It puts importance on umpires and also some tactics and jeopardy on the review system. It adds to the game.

@benstokes38 No - it’s the reason why DRS works (90% of the time) and VAR doesn’t. On pitch decision should count for a lot, because technology is still only a prediction. Umpires call recognises this. For example, would DRS account for a sudden gust of wind across the pitch?

Hmm Interesting the whole error bit that everyone was on about is really not that much of a issue .It is just more to do with fabric of the game .So the Nasser Hussain video is not entirely true. Maybe Ben Stokes was right after all !

@benstokes38 If you get rid of umpires call, maybe just get rid of the umpire and put all decisions through DRS. LOL The umpires are what make the game real and not a computer simulation.

@benstokes38 Fundamentally cricket is a game umpired on the field. DRS should only be an aid/assistant to that. Otherwise cricket at pro level becomes a totally different game to what everyone else is playing.

@benstokes38 This! Exactly this. Always this. Tech is great until people don’t like the results. Either embrace the tech, or not have it at all.

@benstokes38 The use of tech in Cricket is infinitely better than VAR in football. Leave it alone!

@benstokes38 Even toss of coin should be removed. Visiting team will choose whether to bat or bowl as the host would have prepared the pitch to suit themselves. @wvraman
