From what I understand, there are two ways to obedience: submission, and subservience. Submission is willfully obeying out of respect for the husband and trust in his leadership, that’s good. Subservience is coerced obedience out of fear of retaliation or intimidation , that’s not good. If we’re still conflating submission and subservience, maybe we’re not ready for a biblical marriage, yet.
