Someones got the hang of sarcasm ☺️

BS, ask a car mechanic. It DOES wear out, dosn't matter that it is two metal parts. What a silly comparison, the ratchet is built for that lol

if the teeth/pawl wears that easily on your car/ratchet... you have a piece of shit...

Never in my 69 years have I heard this.

Whenever I park my car, I put the car in neutral pull the emergency brake put it in the park and then turn it off so that way the car is resting on the tires and not the parking paw so if anybody bumps into my car in the parking lot, I might have to have my emergency brake adjusted maybe but it’s still cheaper than a $3000 transmission

I don't press the button because i like the sound simple as

Not your content. Haven't given credit to the content creator, Engineering Explained YouTube channel. Doesn't look like you've enabled monetization, but I'm gonna tag @nikitabier just in case. It's a pity there's no easy way to tell.

The forces that push the metal against each other is far less in a wrench then in a hand brake. They wear out.

Here's something more controversial: leave it in first when you park or neutral? I put it into neutral so I can let go of the clutch once the car is started.

Nope. Still not going to do that. Nice try, though. My e-brake hasn't lasted 25+ by making fun grinding noises for no reason other than my own amusement.

Hold the button so you can drift or power slide, don’t let go of the button while moving or things will go poorly.

I just don't like the noise.

"The Haters"...? Manufactured drama. I hate this YouTuber.

having replaced the pawl and gear teeth I firmly disagree with what you are saying.Friction with use wears out metal with no lube.Think about you should use it every time you park. That's a lot of cycles.push button you pull it then release button at end then there is no wear.

2 very sturdy metal counterparts, lol, that never wear out, even after 10 years and constant use. Clout for retards.

If you press the button, pull, then release the button, it might be engaging on the edge of a tooth instead of the valley, which will cause more rounding and wear than ratcheting it, which ensures proper tooth engagement.

Has bro never worn out a ratchet before?

Omg when are they going to translate this video to English

I always hold the button in when im driving and want to do sick drifts

Seems kind of moot at this point as it seems most emergency brakes are electronic these days.

If you had to buy the whole brake line because it has gone smooth, you won’t even ask whether to press or not press. Now we use mostly electronic, changes the equation a little bit

Very accurate, i like how you sum it all up.

comparing a parking brake ratchet to a "wrench" ratchet should only be done with a Harbor Freight tool, since both are using stamped soft mild steel.

This is like dumb in general

And it is good to never wear your shoes. They last a long long time that way

Can’t argue with the logic here.

OP is a handbrake replacement part supplier

I just don't like the ratcheting noise.

😂

how long does it take to wear it down?

certified rage bait

😂

Button’s for show, bro. Real ones know.
