Show me a better movie opening.

Saving Private Ryan

It’s up there, for sure.

I will raise you with one of the two defining openings of Saving Private Ryan. The Omaha Beach sequence. It is etched into my memory. An assault on every sense at once, a vertigo of overwhelming stimuli, relentless and unforgettable. Cheers.🤙🏼

Hot Shots! (1991)

Doesn’t exist.

This movie is why I enlisted in the Navy. Not smart enough or well behaved enough to fly jets. But was a Machinist and a fireMan. Traveled the seas 200+ days year for 4 years. Learned a trade, I still use 30 years later.

Because it was awesome music over real footage 🇺🇸

100% true!

@Stickelliott 99% real footage. Some of us can see massive inconsistencies in that footage. That said, yes it’s still the best opener of all time.

@Stickelliott Not to be a party pooper but at 46 second mark, the jet there is an A-6 intruder yet they show a Tomcat launching…..

@SGTWipper1Each So? It’s all real footage. No CGI.

The alternate start to Lethal Weapon.... I win.

Highlighting the deck crew is what sold me… A combat wing, or any wing company for that matter, only has a couple pilots.. but crews are what keep everything operational.

What are these guys doing? Trading stocks?

this

This one is still a classic

Top Gun Maverick (2nd Top Gun movie) was brilliant too.

best movie opening

TENET opening with "Why so Serious" from TDK.

This is up there.

It was good, iconic, but my vote is.

Very easy

That opening is the reason I joined the navy

Some truly epic openings. Not the best, but it does "grab" you. Especially having been through several driving schools. (Escape and Evade, Pursuit, Off-road, Stock Car, etc) Baby Driver (2017)

I see that and raise you this

Call me Trinity

And this one, last one, oh man — it absorbs you. 2001: A Space Odyssey Cheers 🤙🏼

I doubt a better movie opening exists for the military minded viewer. I can feel my heartbeat racing as the engines come to life and the music ties it all together.

Not better but definitely up there.

Easy, the opening to the dark knight rises

My brother was on the Big E when it was filmed...he's the launcher..🤣🤣
