Shrinkflation allows corporations to increase their profitability while deceptively raising prices on the public and nobody does anything because this is just another function of living in a capitalist dystopia. If you complain about this, then you're a radical communist.

Yo @DawnDish, I use your dish soap and love the work you do with animals that have been affected by oil spills but what the fuck is this?!?

It's not just in our heads. This type of predatory corporate profiteering has been happening for years, and with the pandemic, it has blossomed into a capitalist fantasy. Their great trick is claiming it's "inflation," when companies raise prices well above it.

@adam_4573 This has been happening for a decade plus. There used to be an awesome website, that got axed when Gizmodo/iO9 etc got traded from the Hulk Hogan Gawker lawsuit. They had a whole section for shrinkflation products.

I just bought a package of Double Stuff Oreos. When I opened them I thought I grabbed the regular ones. Nope, the double stuff are now the size of regular.

It's been going on right in front of us for the past few years - this isn't new - if you spend time grocery shopping - you definitely are in the know 🙁

Cake mixes also. So when you use recipes that use cake mixes you have to usually add from another box to have the correct ounces needed.

I have a standing subscription with Chewy for dog food and noticed they were shipping my order. Same price, but instead of 35lbs, the new sack was only 30lbs. I immediately contacted them and receive a nice letter saying commodities had gone up. Not true.

A 5-lb. bag of sugar, now 4 lbs. Gallon of Clorox, now 121 ozs. A half-gallon of OJ, now 59 ozs. A pint of Haagen Dazs, now 14 ozs. A 1-lb. can of coffee, now 11 ozs. (If you're lucky). And as American asses get wider, toilet paper gets skinnier. Capitalism is a shell game.
