Because over 35% of all international students come from India—more than 3.5x the next highest country. Because exploitation isn’t a side effect, it’s the foundation of this program. Because young Indian students are treated as cheap labour for big box retailers. Because criminals were slipped in under the guise of students—bringing violence, fear, and intimidation. Because it’s the Indian community in Canada paying the highest price—through rising racism and resentment from the rest of the country. Greed won but Community lost.

If international community just stays indiferrent and enjoys the horrible political show that is playing now in Romania, this will leed to an international legal precedent where a constitutional court will take the power of the vote from the people and give it always to the politicians. I don’t understand how a student population of nearly half a million from India can be blamed solely on the Liberals when it was Conservative MP Tim Uppal who originally spearheaded the policy, and once Canada became number one, fought against deportations to keep them in the country.
