You can be mistaken for thinking this is just traffic on both sides of the road. But all these bikes are without a care driving on the wrong side of the road. A preventable tragedy on Veppur Coot Road. A biker died yesterday evening in a collision with a bus at the Kattumayilur junction - a spot locals say has been a known risk for a while now. Why? On narrower roads, riding in the middle of the lane is safer. Drivers often indicate late (if at all!), and you need to be able to anticipate. Take extra care when overtaking, as there may be other road users wanting to come out of the junction that don't give a shit either.

I travelled to Mbale through Kayunga this weekend and I was particularly disturbed by the road behavior of supporters on the campaign trail from both the NRM and NUP camps. For the record, while I'm posting this video because it was available, this behavior has been exhibited by both sides and I think the NRM supporters are even worse on the road. We need to do better......

There needs to be an urgent traffic management plan for the Kasangati–Gayaza road around Matuga Junction. Many Ugandans have now been stuck in traffic for over 2 hours, and frustration is going higher... Some motorists are beginning to force their way through, while others are showing signs of striking out of desperation. Thank you. This is inner ring road, coming from Indiranagar to Koramangala on a weekday. Street hawkers have taken up the side lane + the pavement on both sides of ring road. This not only obstructs the pavement, but also causes so much traffic. As if the road works and flyover construction isn't causing enough chaos, we have guys selling t shirts and omelettes on the ring road? What is stopping them from setting up a stall outside safina plaza or outside empire to sell their stuff? 🚗 Another Vehicle Dumped on Our Streets Following the successful removal of the Renault truck, we now have another vehicle that appears to have been dumped, this time at the junction of Coleshill Road and Ventnor Avenue. The vehicle is visibly damaged and has been left in a position that is causing an obstruction close to the junction. While England does not yet have the same widespread pavement parking restrictions seen in London or Scotland, parking that causes an obstruction or creates a danger to other road users is a separate matter. As your local councillor, I will be reporting this vehicle to the local police so that appropriate action can be taken. If you are the owner of this vehicle, I strongly urge you to remove it immediately before enforcement action is considered. Our streets are not a dumping ground for abandoned or damaged vehicles. Thank you to the residents who continue to report these issues to me.

Some right-turning vehicles occupy the left-side lanes and wait for their green signal. This blocks vehicles going straight, even when their signal is green. I use Ngong Road almost every day, so I know how bad the traffic has been around Junction Mall and Naivasha Road. Sometimes a short journey would take much longer because of the heavy traffic. The new Ngong Road Naivasha Road Flyover is good news for everyone who uses this road. It will help reduce traffic, save time, make travel easier and also improve safety for drivers, passengers, pedestrians, and boda boda riders. For small business owners, it means customers can reach them more easily. For commuters, it means getting to work or school on time. For boda boda riders and matatus, it means making more trips instead of spending hours in traffic. This is the kind of development that makes a real difference in people's daily lives. Congratulations to my boss President William Samoei Ruto, PhD and the Kenya Kwanza Administration for delivering another important project for Nairobi residents. Ni Ruto wa kazi once again.
